The Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise has attached its position paper on the Industrial Accelerator Act. The four main messages are as follows: 1. Unconditional EEA inclusion in Union origin: The definition of Union origin should be extended to unconditionally cover EEA EFTA states Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein to account for the close integration in the Single Market.

The signatories to the submission, the Fair ESG Initiative, Lawyers for Upholding International Law, and the Shengchi ESG International Institute, argue that the IAA is flawed and should therefore be withdrawn for the following reasons. First, the measures proposed in the IAA are unlawful. Thus, the Union-origin requirements are contrary to Article IV:1(a) (GPA), which contains the non-discrimination clause.
