RTE welcomes the European Commissions post2030 Renewable Energy Framework and sets out its views on scaling up electrification and adapting grids and system operation to make full use of growing lowcarbon electricity and higher shares of renewables. RTE considers that two additional considerations should be reflected in the implementing regulation for the DPP registry: 1. The regulation should ensure the long-term availability and accessibility of DPP information.

RTE welcomes the European Commissions initiative to establish a clear framework for energy efficiency in the European Union beyond 2030. As the French Transmission System Operator, RTE is a key player in the energy transition and demonstrates in its studies that electrification of demand contributes to decarbonization and to the overall efficiency of the system.
During the current MFF period (2021-2027), RTE benefited from the support of the European Union through the CEF-Energy fund, with subsidies granted for studies and/or works for certain interconnection projects, including: - The Bay of Biscay interconnector between France and Spain. - The Celtic Interconnector between France and Ireland.
Executive summary The EU is entering a major grid build out to meet climate, security of supply and industrial policy objectives. This build out depends directly on components manufactured from strategic and critical raw materials (CRM), which are highly vulnerable and exposed to geopolitical and market disruptions.
Electricity transmission system operators rely heavily on iron and steel products to run their activities, and their needs increase significantly as electrification progresses. RTE has established an investment plan of EUR 100 billion by 2040. Maintaining high environmental standards in our sourcing remains a key priority for the company.
