Last updated: 30 May 2026.

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs the use of PolicySpeak's services. By accessing or using PolicySpeak you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account and, where appropriate, notification to relevant authorities.

Permitted use

PolicySpeak is a research, monitoring, and drafting tool for European public-affairs professionals. Permitted uses include: tracking EU and member state policy developments; preparing briefings and meeting materials; drafting communications for public-affairs purposes; managing stakeholder engagement; and analyzing publicly available political and legislative information.

Prohibited content and behavior

You will not use PolicySpeak to:

Unlawful or harmful activity

  • Engage in any activity that violates EU, member state, or applicable national or international law.
  • Generate, store, or transmit content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or that incites violence.
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or contractual rights of any person.
  • Bypass or attempt to bypass content licensing terms, paywalls, or other access restrictions on third-party sources.

Personal data and profiling

  • Upload personal data of EU citizens or residents for the purpose of profiling, behavioral inference, or building marketing or political targeting datasets, except where you have a clear legal basis under GDPR.
  • Infer sensitive personal attributes (political opinions where not publicly stated, religious belief, sexual orientation, health status, ethnic origin, trade union membership, biometric data).
  • Make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on any individual without meaningful human review.

AI-specific prohibitions

  • Generate content intended to deceive public officials, regulators, journalists, or members of the public.
  • Produce mass-personalized outreach that misrepresents its automated origin (PolicySpeak-generated content used in outbound communication should be reviewed and signed by the human sender).
  • Use PolicySpeak to engage in election interference, disinformation campaigns, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
  • Attempt to extract our system prompts, fine-tuning data, or model weights.
  • Use outputs generated by PolicySpeak to train competitive AI systems.

System abuse

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of PolicySpeak.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without prior written authorization.
  • Bypass rate limits, authentication systems, or access controls.
  • Submit content designed to overwhelm, crash, or impair our service.
  • Build or operate competing products using access derived from a PolicySpeak account.

Account hygiene

  • Share account credentials with anyone outside your organization.
  • Create accounts using false or misleading identifying information.
  • Operate more than one account per user without our written agreement.

Reporting

If you become aware of any actual or suspected violation of this AUP, by you or by another user, write to security@policyspeak.com.

Enforcement

PolicySpeak reserves the right to investigate suspected violations. Where a violation is confirmed, we may:

  1. Issue a written notice to the organization admin.
  2. Suspend the offending user account or feature access.
  3. Terminate the affected user account.
  4. Terminate the organization's contract under the master agreement.
  5. Notify relevant authorities where required by law.

We will use reasonable judgment in graduating enforcement to fit the severity and intent of the violation. Inadvertent or first-time minor violations will typically be addressed through notice and dialogue before any access is suspended.

Changes

We will update this AUP when our policies or applicable law change. Material changes are notified to organization admins by email before they take effect, unless a faster change is required by legal or security circumstances.
