HAROPA PORT Grand Port fluvio-maritime de laxe Seine supports the European Commission’s desire, through the Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA), to revitalise European industrial development while making decarbonisation a central lever for competitiveness. HAROPA PORT is at the heart of a territory which remains one of the main ‘industrial lands’ in France: the Seine Valley.

HAROPA PORT welcomes the Commission's willingness to accelerate the decarbonisation of industry. We share the Commission's assessment that investments in clean technologies are currently too slow and insufficient to develop viable solutions for industrial decarbonisation.

The Major River-Sea Port of the Seine Axis HAROPA PORT has united the ports of Le Havre, Rouen, and Paris under one public authority since 2021. As Frances largest port, it handles 102 million tonnes of annual maritime and inland traffic, generating 7.3 billion in economic value and supporting around 160,000 jobs. Attached, our contribution in both French and English.
HAROPA PORT – the Major river-sea Port of the Seine axis, safeguarding the three ports of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris – appreciates the opportunity to submit its comments on the revision of the Combined Transport (CT) Directive. (A) We generally welcome the initiative of reviewing the existing Directive. An update of the (currently obsolete) legal framework is strongly needed.
