For the issue "Exchange of safety and compliance information in the supply chain", this is especially important when FCM uses recycled plastic material and if they are coming from outside of the EU or developing area in the EU. Recyclates coming from such region may have competitive price but they are generally weak in exchanging safety information.

ALPLA welcomes the call for evidence on the PPWR implementing act under Article 7(8) on recycled-content calculation and verification as a key opportunity to establish a transparent, accurate and workable framework for recycled-content claims across the European Union (EU).

ALPLA group agrees on the outcome of the evaluation to the WSR i.e. obstacles such as the current paper-based procedures and the lack of harmonization throughout the EU in terms of the waste transport within the EU. We also agree that illegal shipments of waste within the EU shall be controlled sufficiently in order to make illegal waste available to the market.
