Europe, beautiful Europe. Remains strong in the face of the lobbies that erode us. My country has gone through, our soils are now overburdened with cadmium. There is nothing noble about this productivist and Ecocide agriculture. It does not reflect the jobs of farmers, who listen to their environment. Those who know how to integrate into the ecosystem around them. Europe was not busy. For our salvation.

The pet food sector strongly supports the Commissions objective to modernise and simplify EU food and feed safety legislation. However, we are concerned that combining numerous legislative changes, ranging from technical simplifications to politically sensitive pesticide provisions, may slow adoption.
With regard to the proposal for a Regulation COM (2025) 1030 final/2, and following the analysis of the amendments envisaged for Regulations (EC) No 999/2001, (EU) 2017/625, (EC) No 852/2004, (EC) No 853/2004 and (EC) No 1099/2009, this Sub-directorate makes the following technical comments: 1. Regulation (EC) No 999/2001 on transmissible spongiform encephalopathies.

Ladies and gentlemen, Omnibus X (DG SANTE) of 16 December 2025 contains, in addition to problematic deregulation, a useful proposal: stricter controls on pesticide residues in imports and a practical zero tolerance for active substances banned in the EU. It is not acceptable that pesticides banned due to significant health or environmental risks are exported and returned to the EU market via imports.

The draft ‘Simplification Omnibus’ on food and feed safety raises serious concerns for public health, animal health and the protection of the environment. These risks do not result from an explicit questioning of the protection objectives, which the text states it wishes to maintain, but from an accumulation of structural changes adopted without an overall dimpact analysis.

Method. Every quote is verbatim from the organization’s own submission to the European Commission, trimmed to its opening passage and never summarized by a model. Where a submission was filed in another EU language we show the English text the European Commission publishes alongside it, labeled on the quote; the original is one click away at the source. Groupings use the respondent type the organization itself selected when filing. We deliberately do not label anyone “supportive” or “opposed”. You read what they wrote and draw your own conclusion. Organizations only, never individuals. Reused under Commission Decision 2011/833/EU; the European Commission is not liable for this reuse.
