The proposed harmonisation of national producer registers is a welcome step, particularly for companies operating across several EU Member States. However, a common data format alone will not be sufficient to reduce the current administrative burden. Companies still face different national requirements regarding the scope of information, packaging categories, reporting procedures and supporting documentation.
