The Commission’s proposed draft directive aims to ensure compliance with human rights and environmental and climate-related obligations throughout the value chain. The aim is to have uniform EU-wide rules, which the DRV generally welcomes in the interests of fair competition and the creation of a level playing fields.

The Commission presents three options for the further development of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive. The Deutscher Raiffeisenverband is of the opinion that the current rules are sufficient. They provide sufficient guidance for workable implementation in individual companies. Against this background, the Association is in favour of Option 1.

Dear ladies and gentlemen, as the political umbrella association of all cooperatives and cooperative enterprises in the German agri-food sector, the Deutscher Raiffeisenverband e.V. (DRV) generally supports measures against late payment. However, we reject the Commission’s proposal, as the shortening of the payment deadline can even lead to more and faster bankruptcies.

The DRV (Deutscher Raiffeisenverband e.V.) is the political umbrella organisation of all cooperatives and cooperative-oriented companies in the German agricultural and food industry. As an important link in the food value chain, the 1,656 member companies in the production, trade and processing of plant and animal products with 114,000 employees and 6,000 people in training achieve a turnover of 82.6 billion euros.
The Interest Community Cooperative Dairy Industry (IGM) represents voluntary representatives of cooperative dairy companies in Germany, who are themselves farmers. The cooperative dairy industry is responsible for around two thirds of the milk produced in Germany.

The German Raiffeisen Association (DRV) welcomes the Commission’s intention to fill legal uncertainties and gaps in the introduction of a Union Biofuels Database (UDB) by means of a delegated regulation. However, the DRV doubts whether the introduction of such a database will prevent fraud caused by the import of incorrectly declared goods from countries of non-European origin.
