We welcome the recognition that EU action is therefore necessary to obtain comparable information about EU agriculture. This is particularly important for animal health data, which remains underrepresented despite its central role in sustainable farming, food safety, and animal welfare.

According to WOAH, approximately 75% of emerging human infectious diseases have been zoonotic. We consider that animal health has an essential role to play in controlling serious cross border threats.
