We welcome the initiative for an impact assessment for the upcoming revision. The aim of the legislation is to protect entities (e.g. farmers) in the food supply chain against unfair practices used by more powerful buyers. The evaluation report of the EC provides clear evidence of effectiveness that since the implementation of the directive UTP moved the food supply chain in a positive way. E.g.
