Dutch Meat Importers Association (DMIA) The European Marketing Standards for meat and poultrymeat have proven to be a successful and effective instrument for ensuring the continuity and proper functioning of the common market organization within the European Union. Industry, trade, controlling authorities and consumers benefit equally from the application of the marketing standards.

Counts here are a floor, never a total: they cover the 583 consultation files tracked so far (42,224 submissions, mostly 2025–26), so an organization's real filing history is larger, not smaller.

What they argued
Dutch Meat Importers Associations feedback Already in 2013 an EU study showed that the standards used measuring the water content of poultry meat were incorrect. The EU importers of poultry meat organized in the UECBV have mentioned this in a letter to the EU Commission. One might expect that once the EU legislation on marketing standards would be changed that this incorrectness would be immediately corrected.
