We disagree with the criteria for establishing equivalence between plants obtained by NGTs and conventional bred plants. These criteria were chosen arbitrarily and have no sound scientific basis. Many scientists say this, such as ENSSER that there is no scientific basis for asserting that new genetically modified plants meeting the category 1 criteria are equivalent to conventional plants…
