Global migration is already referenced for these products. Your study or survey is null and void. Our art professions need your support and do not call into question varacular uses or solutions of 30 years’ experience.

I am a wooden rotating artist and make unique parts that serve as a receptacle for food (plates, bols, saladiers, etc.). Some of my coins are unique and the new legislation simply makes my activity out of the law! It has long been known that some wood is completely harmless to health. Why not adapt legislation to small craftsmen who are responsible for artistic work and actors in a local and healthy economy.

Forcing me to do these tests is not realistic to the extent that handicraft parts do not lend themselves and I would be obliged to abandon my crockery production!!!!! We would like to use the opportunity to address a loophole in the FMC legislation for the dual-use-additives (DUA). In the plastic regulation (regulation EU nr 10/2011), the specific migration limit (SML) is missing as Article 11 number 2 is “empty”.

We recognize and appreciate that the Commission in its roadmap identify a number of troubling issues that we believe urgently needs to be addressed. The most striking issue is that there is currently not a coherent system for regulation of substances of concern.

It has been known for a long time that the current regulatory framework for Food Contact Materials (FCM) is deficient and puts consumers at risk. Harmonised rules (particularly for plastics) are incomplete and outdated; implementing measures for most other materials are missing. So far, the Commission has done little to improve the situation.

The European Container Glass manufacturing industry (FEVE) welcomes the revision of the FCM legislation and calls upon the European Commission to: • Develop harmonised legislation for glass packaging materials intended for food contact • Ensure the safe recycling of packaging materials into food contact applications You will find more details in the position paper attached.

Green Transition Denmark welcomes the opportunity to provide comments on the European Commission Roadmap on the revision of EU rules on Food Contact Materials (FCMs). We have four overall points we consider essential: 1) The EU needs to ban all hazardous chemicals in all FCM to honour the commitments of the Green Deal and the new Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (and not partial regulations, such as BPA).

Hello, Ceramics installed individually since 2006, in line with what I learned from Daniel de Montmollin, I work on sandstone with materials gleaned in my nearby environment and above all ash of hay, wood, vines that I harvest and burn myself to make my emals. Introducing a unified approach across the EU is required to ensure the EU’s internal market and prevent further development of another layer of national legislation.

Henkel’s feedback on the inception impact assessment on the initiative ‘Revision of EU rules on food contact materials (FCM)’ The Framework Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 sets basic rules for the manufacturing, preparation, storage, transport and distribution of all food contact materials in Europe. This legislation is used as an important reference, not only in Europe, but also in other regions.

This revision of EU rules on food contact materials is as an important step in the prevention of cancer and possibly treatment efficacy of cancer. In addition to the already mentioned specific groups more sensitive to the effects of certain substances, we would like to draw the attention to cancer patients receiving treatment. Some data show that resistance to treatment may be caused by endocrine disruptors.

For the issue "Exchange of safety and compliance information in the supply chain", this is especially important when FCM uses recycled plastic material and if they are coming from outside of the EU or developing area in the EU. Recyclates coming from such region may have competitive price but they are generally weak in exchanging safety information.

ZERO congratulates the EU for finally moving forward in reducing the problems for health and the environment resulting from FCM. It is clear for us that hazardous chemicals must never be allowed in whatever FCM. That is fundamental to honor the commitments of the Green Deal and the new Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability.

I am an art ceramist based in France and working alone. As my manufacturing process is artisanal, I make only unique parts. At present, our creations are covered by the proof of conformity of the raw materials used (provided by our suppliers) and by the principle of good manufacturing practice.

As a artisanal artist, I think that a revision of the rules to focus on the conformity of the final product (pottery) rather than on the products used and the manufacturing processes would signify the death of most small workshops. My feedback is about FCMs in the context of ceramics produced by SMEs. I am a studio potter in France. Most of the weaknesses and limitations of the FCMs regulation are indeed well stated in your IIA document. SMEs in France have to struggle with regulation, or ignore it. Ceramics is one of the materials that are controlled as the final product and not as the starting substances.
