What they argued
CNA believes it is essential that the revision of the CBAM includes a mix of measures necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of Italian and European mechanical engineering companies, a strategic sector for the development of our industrial system that deserves to be protected and safeguarded for its significant contribution to growth and employment.
CNA identifies some main concerns regarding the draft Regulation on the DPP Registry. The document raises concerns about the long-term availability and lifecycle consistency of DPP data, particularly when economic operators are no longer active or their verification expires. It also highlights the absence of clear technical and operational mechanisms governing backup copies and recovery procedures for DPP data.
While agreeing with the objective of harmonising at EU level the end-of-waste criteria for plastics, CNA considers it necessary to highlight significant problems that risk disproportionately affecting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, in a context of serious crisis in the market for recycled plastics.
