The Nickel Institute is the global association of leading primary nickel producers. We advocate for the responsible supply of nickel and the sustainable development of the nickel industry. The Environmental Omnibus is a significant step in the right direction toward achieving a more competitive EU mining industry.
The Nickel Institute as association the nickel industry takes note of the Annex to the Commission Delegated Regulation supplementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 of the European Parliament and of the Council by establishing the methodology for the calculation and verification of the carbon footprint of electric vehicle batteries as published in May 2024.
The Nickel Institute supports the European Commission's objective of improving the environmental sustainability and circularity of iron and steel products under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). Steel is fundamental to the EU's industrial competitiveness, strategic autonomy and decarbonisation ambitions.

Organizations that also filed on at least two of the same consultations. A shared interest in the same dossiers — not evidence of coordination, and we do not suggest any.
Everything on this page comes from Nickel Institute’s own submissions to the European Commission — we have added nothing and interpreted nothing. If something is wrong or out of date, email info@policyspeak.com and we will correct it. If you are an individual named in a record, our privacy policy sets out your rights to correction, objection and removal.
