One module handles cross-border shipment compliance under the WSR and the Basel Convention.
Dear Members of the European Commission, Valumat hereby wishes to formally express its support for the proposal to include dry-collected, non-hazardous waste mattresses destined for dismantling and recycling in Annex IIIB of the Waste Shipments Regulation (WSR) under the new entry BEU08. Valumat is the organisation that manages extended producer responsibility (EPR) for mattresses in Belgium.

There are only a few companies in the EU that are able to recycle PCBs (printed circuit boards) and related fractions to primary materials. Therefore, for e-waste to be fully recycled, it has involve transboundary movement in most cases, either to refiners in the EU, or export according to Basel notification process.
