PV CYCLE welcomes this revision of Regulation (EU) 2024/1157 but believes whole waste photovoltaic (PV) panels should also be green-listed for shipments between Member States. As drafted, whole and untreated PV panels waste fall outside BEU09 and would be under EU49, i.e. notification, from 1 January 2027. PV panels are one of the fastest-growing WEEE streams and the one most dependent on cross-border movement.
