In regard to the next Multiannual Financial Framework, ICLEI Europe highlights that for reforms and investments to deliver tangible results across all European territories, two conditions are essential: robust multilevel governance and territorially sensitive performance indicators. COFACE Families Europe, an European network which represents millions of families, and the European care alliance - a group of European NGOs and Trade Unions which represent persons in need of care, care workers and family carers - call on the EU legislators to clearly earmark funding for social and care policies under the next 7-year EU budget (2028-2034).

UITP supports EU efforts to simplify and harmonise budget monitoring, but warns against increased reporting burdens. Flexibility in indicators and proportionality for small projects are essential. UITP calls for accessible, granular data on beneficiaries, a transparent portal for calls with multi-year visibility, and easier funding access for all stakeholders.
