Grupo Social ONCE welcomes the European Commissions intention to advance an Affordable Housing Act (AHA) as part of the European Affordable Housing Plan, in response to the severe housing crisis affecting large areas of the European Union. Persons with disabilities are among the groups most affected by the lack of affordable housing, and their situation continues to be overlooked in the design of housing policies.
ONCE Social Group has followed and supported the development of corporate reporting and sustainable finance requirements, in particular with regards to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards.
The ONCE Social Group suggests that the European Disability Card should be regulated by means of an EU regulation, which is the highest regulatory status of EU provisions, excluding other lower-level media such as the Directive.
