Suomen luonnonsuojeluliitto (The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation) is the oldest and biggest environmental NGO in Finland. We warmly welcome and support the 8 EAP with good principles like Do Not Harm, planetary boundaries, wellbeing, monitoring and enforcement. Do Not Harm Principle is a good start. It should be implemented in all legislation and financing (including so-called Taxonomy).

COMMON FORUM on Contaminated Land in Europe (www.commonforum.eu) welcomes the proposal for a General Union Environment Action Plan to 2030. In particular the long-term vision for a regenerative growth model giving back to the planet more than it takes, is acknowledged! The Czech Republic welcomes the proposal of the 8th Environment Action Programme. The EAPs proved to be useful guiding framework for European environmental protection. Compared to the 7th EAP, the 8th is rather short. Even though we understand the reason why and reference to the EGD, we want to make sure it does not create a precedent for the future EAPs.

ISDE Italy considers essential for the 8EAP’s success that it provides a foundation to: 1. Hold Member States accountable for the continuity of the EU Green Deal’s objectives in legislation beyond 2024 The 7EAP finishes in 2020 and committed the EU co-legislators to a coherent and comprehensive long-term vision until 2050 on climate, health and environmental actions.

We need finally the implementation of an environmental crime court. see www.endecocide.org We have heard NIE that Borealis received a penalty for spilling microplastic waste into the Danube. Elmex received a penalty for the introduction of microplastics into toothpaste by 2014 or that any cosmetic company was punished for knowingly introducing microplastics.

As an animal welfare organisation human, animals and the environment form an indivisible whole. For this reason FOUR PAWS welcomes the new Environment Action Programme (EAP).

In essence, the EC presents the proposal for UAP8 Governance instrument in the form of a decision by the Council and the EP: Legislative procedures. Content is different from UAP7 (ending (2020) which contains, in addition to the Decision, an extensive substantive annex, none will be profiled in this supplement.

The 8th Environment Action Program with its long-term vision and the environmental policy priorities pursued together with the Green Deal is intended to support the EU's joint commitment to a “green” recovery and the associated transformation of its economy for a sustainable future. Sustainability and sustainable management are key concerns of steel companies in Germany.

The VCI represents the politico-economic interests of around 1,700 German chemical companies. In 2019 the German chemical industry realised sales of over 198 billion euros (equal to 1/3 of the Europe-an chemical industry) and employed around 464,000 staff. The goals and requirements described in the 8th EAP cannot be realised in isolation from the international community.

The Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) welcomes the draft Decision on the 8th Environment Action Programme (8EAP) from the European Commission, which will now go into legislative debate. In particular we welcome the objective on pursuing a zero-pollution ambition for a toxic free-environment (Article 2.d).

EEB Feedback on the 8th Environment Action Programme (8EAP) The European Environmental Bureau (EEB), representing more than 160 members across all Member States, welcomes the 8EAP proposal. Given the EGD, the 8EAP is of a different nature than preceding EAPs. It remains a very important tool for European environmental policy. EEB welcomes a range of elements, including: 1.

WWF European Policy Office believes that as it stands the 8th EAP proposal lacks the overall ambition and forward-looking actions to tackle environmental degradation and achieve the EU’s long-term aim of ‘living well, within the means of our planet’. The document attached provides recommendations for strengthening the proposal and reaching this long-term aim.

The Stockholm University Baltic Sea Centre’s comments to the Environmental Action Programme to 2030 (COM(2020) 652 final 1. An action programme covering such a broad area needs clear, coherent and mutually supporting policies. Although it contains a lot of positive elements, it is doubtful if the proposal meets these criteria. 2.

Family farms and forests welcome the fact that the European Commission is pursuing ambitious plans for climate protection and biodiversity through the EU Green Deal and related environmental programmes. But both can only be achieved together with agriculture and forestry and the commitment of owners and managers. Kemira welcomes the Commission’s proposal for a new 8th Environment Action Programme (EAP). Kemira supports the six thematic priority objectives of the 8th EAP, which aims to accelerate the transition to a climate-neutral, resource-efficient and regenerative economy in line with the objective of “live well, within the planetary boundaries”.

The COVID-19 crisis has underscored the import of a healthy living environment. Recent developments have had the need for an ambitious environmental policy that places the health of our citizens and our eco-systems at its core. The context in which the 8th EAP is launched is radically different from previous editions.
