The German Bus and Coach Operators’ Association (bdo) is still of the opinion that for adopting suitable driving and rest time rules for occasional coach services the past legislative procedure for revising regulation 561/2006 in general would have been the best option.
Introduction The bdo supports the Commission's objective of making the new rules for occasional passenger services verifiable through the smart tachograph. The proposed functionality can strengthen enforcement because it links the driver's service-status entry to time, position and vehicle data. It should, however, also simplify the regulatory system.
