ETUC calls for a worker centred VET Strategy that delivers concrete rights, quality jobs, fair pay and strong social dialogue. The strategy must be rooted in the European Pillar of Social Rights. ETUC insists that VET must serve workers and society, not only competitiveness.

SALAR stresses that the Member States remain responsible for the organisation and content of vocational education and training systems. SALAR however thinks that a European VET strategy, with relevant priorities, can provide common orientation, coordination and support at EU level to improve the quality, relevance and resilience of these systems.
