The German Airports Association (ADV) comments on the “Evaluation Roadmap Groundhandling services at airports”:as follows: The ADV takes note that all provisions of Council Directive 96/67/EC of 15 October 1996 are being evaluated.

One additional comment from one of our members: Our local FBO "FAS Frankfurt Aviation Service“ i.e. cannot provide passenger transport on the ramp because the airport operator FRAPORT insists that only two handling companies (FRAPORT Ground Services and WISAG) hold the license for this service. Therefore have to use them to transport the passengers of our business jet customers.
The Association of Austrian Commercial Airports (AÖV) takes note of the European Commission’s evaluation of Directive 96/67/EC and adopts the roadmap. From the point of view of the AÖV, the Directive was correctly transposed in Austria by the Airport Handling Services Act (FBG), by the deadline and to the satisfaction of the Austrian aviation industry.

Directive 96/67/EC fully opened the airside handling market in 1996, with the possibility of limiting it to a maximum of two third-party handlers in certain areas. Directive 96/67/EC has been transposed in Germany under the restrictions provided for in the Directive.

AviAlliance welcomes the Commission’s initiative to review the implementation and functioning of the Groundhandling Directive. Safe and efficient ground handling services are essential to the day-to-day operations of both airports and airlines.
In the opinion of the Austrian Federal Chamber of Labour, special attention must be paid in the evaluation of the stakeholders to the solutions proposed by the staff representatives (works council, trade union, etc.). This is particularly necessary as the number of stakeholders on the business side is much higher.

Finnair supports revision of the EU Ground Handling Directive 96/67/EC to bring real competition in Europe’s ground handling services. Further harmonisation and liberalisation of the ground handling market in the EU is needed in parallel with other parts of the value chain, and in order to deliver cost-efficient, high quality ground handling services.

Dear Sirs, The EU rules on handling currently in force are, as well known, set up by Directive 96/67/EC, which was transposed into Spanish law by Royal Decree 1161/1999 regulating the provision of airport groundhandling services.

I represent an association of parents of children with visual impairments and I am myself parents of a girl with visual impairments? I am very often travelling with my daughter at the rate of 4 flights per month on various airlines such as Air France, Hop, EasyJet, for the most part on France and from Nice. In general, I appreciate the services of accompanying staff.
