We would like to express our deep regret at the real ineffectiveness of fisheries budgets and aid, which, far from being a support, have become cumbersome, complex and severely delayed administrative traps.

After 6 years of implementation of MAP WestMed, several structural problems are identified. First, the plan is based on the concept of the most vulnerable stock, which is not suitable in a mixed fishery such as that in the Mediterranean. This approach makes fishing effort excessively dependent on one species, in particular hake, and has led to disproportionate decisions.
