Possible revision of the Code of Conduct for computerised reservation systems (CRS)
7 submissions from 7 organizations told the European Commission what they think about this file. Here is what each of them said, in their own words.
The Commission lists 36 submissions on this file. Shown here: the 7 from organizations. Not shown, by design: submissions from private individuals, which we never publish, and anything filed since our last weekly refresh.
Who showed up
6 submissions from industry — companies and their trade associations — against 1 from civil society: NGOs, consumer organizations, environmental groups and trade unions. That is 6 industry submissions for every one from civil society.
Groupings use the respondent type each organization selected when filing. Counting submissions, not organizations — a body that filed twice is counted twice.

Lufthansa Group welcomes the recent publication of the Inception Impact Assessment (Ref. Ares 3635812 - 09/07/2020) on a potential review of the CRS Code of Conduct (Regulation EC 80/2009) and we appreciate the possibility offered to share comments on this Inception Impact Assessment.
Dear Ladies and Gentleman, the VIR representing the interests of the digital travel industry in Germany, strongly supports the principles of the CRS Code of Conduct, but agrees as the prior evaluation of the EU has proven, that the code of conduct as it is in place now, is not granting a fair competition and transparency for the consumer any-more.
This possible revision of the Code is welcomed by eu travel tech. eu travel tech supports the principles the Code promotes: level playing field, transparency for consumers and business users and fair competition.
A Regulation of Computer Reservation Systems for flights is needed more than ever. However due to market developments with new players providing the same or similar services like the traditional CRS/GDS an enlargement of the scope and a proper enforcement is urgently needed to achieve a level playing field and allow for real transparency and choice.
Method. Every quote is verbatim from the organization’s own submission to the European Commission, trimmed to its opening passage and never summarized by a model. Where a submission was filed in another EU language we show the English text the European Commission publishes alongside it, labeled on the quote; the original is one click away at the source. Groupings use the respondent type the organization itself selected when filing. We deliberately do not label anyone “supportive” or “opposed” — you read what they wrote and draw your own conclusion. Organizations only, never individuals. Reused under Commission Decision 2011/833/EU; the European Commission is not liable for this reuse.
