Since 2012, the EU has set ambitious targets for CO2 emissions from new cars. They are constantly under attack. Nevertheless, all manufacturers have always complied with their respective CO2 targets, sometimes even over-achieved. And at a much lower cost than previously claimed. CO2 legislation is thus a success story and one of the key tools to decarbonise the transport sector.
