Norway welcomes and share the visions of the Renovation Wave initiative and the revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. An energy efficient economy is of crucial importance to reach a zero-emission economy by 2050. It is essential to utilise energy efficiently as energy production and transmission always involves costs and burdens to the environment.
Norway supports the vision for a European Green Deal. Without prejudice to the scope of the EEA Agreement, we contribute to this consultation. Natural gas accounts for 95 % of gaseous fuel demand and is an indispensable part of Europe's energy mix. It has many advantages: It is flexible, plentiful, affordable and an important industrial feedstock.
