Eramet, a global French mining group, is a key player in the extraction and transformation of metals. Eramet supports the transition to a carbon neutral economy by developing activities strategic for Europe to sustain its leadership and autonomy in this transition, including nickel, cobalt, lithium mining extraction, refining, and recycling around the world.
Eramet, a European mining and metallurgical group, is a key player in the extraction and refining of base metals necessary for the overall growth of our economy (manganese, titanium mineral sands) and those critical for the transition to a climate neutral economy (nickel, lithium, cobalt).
Mr Eramet wished to highlight the progress made over the last decade in the classification, labelling and packaging of chemicals. We therefore consider that it is too early to propose a revision of the CLP Regulation and we warn against the risk of complicated procedures.

We believe that the REACH revision must go hand in hand with a change in the concepts with which chemicals are valued. We regret that, at present, the assessments are mainly based on the ‘hazard’ which substances could represent and not on ‘risk’.
