EuroCommerce welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback to the roadmap on the revision of EU marketing standards for agricultural products. Ensuring quality of food products, and consumers’ trust in food, is a priority for our sector. While standards are primarily meant for producers, they are important to enable retailers and wholesalers to match the needs of consumers.
Unione Italiana Food is one of the most representative trade associations of the Italian food industry, with over 20 product sectors, made up of 550 companies. Among those companies, we also include three of the 4 sectors that will be affected by the Breakfast Directives: jams, fruit juices and honey. Representing these sectors, we enclose the position of our companies on the individual directives.
