While we broadly share the Commissions assessment of the challenges, we consider many of the proposed measures to be problematic from a competitiveness perspective. Below and attached, we summarise our primary recommendations to improve the proposal. Maintain the broader scope of countries considered equivalent to EU origin, to ensure that the EU complies with its international commitments.

Geographical indication protection for craft and industrial products

The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region calls for the establishment of a European legislative framework for better protection of non-agricultural geographical indications (IGNA) and, to this end, supports the initiatives and initiatives of the Association Française des Indications Industrielles et Artisanales (AFIGIA) and the Pierre de Bourgogne Association.
