We welcome in principle the objective of ensuring the EU’s supply of safe and affordable medicines, cutting red tape and at the same time supporting the innovation efforts of the EU pharmaceutical industry. The pharmaceutical industry is a major source of innovation for Europe, triggering large (volks) economic and health-related leverage.

A recent study by the Institute of Industrial Science on the consequences of Aarhus judgements by the European Court of Justice shows that 86 % of the companies surveyed expect significant legal uncertainty.
