Clarifying that designs developed as part of employment relationships belong to the employer, 2. SMEunited welcomes the initiative by the European Commission to update EU design protection rules. However, not all revisions and additions contribute to clearer and simpler rules for SMEs, e.g. limiting design strictly to visible components or delegating power in delicate matters such as appeal proceedings.
