Contribution of the paysanne Confederation on the targeted revision of the biological regulations: The Confederation of Farmers supports organic farming as a coherent framework for a demanding agro-ecological transition, free of pesticides and synthetic inputs, rooted in the regions and delivering a social model based on many of its peasants, fairly remunerated and protective of life.

We support the utmost rigour in using the European Organic logo. The European logo should only be used by producers who comply with all the rules laid down in the Regulation and, in particular for important products from third countries, we consider it necessary to ensure reciprocity in the application of the rules in order to ensure fair competition in the organic market.

in order to protect national and EU products and to make consumers aware of the true origin and quality of the product, it is important to revise the labelling system at EU level and in particular to ensure that, where honey originates from more than one Member State or third country, the country or countries of origin are correctly indicated.
