Strengthening Europol’s mandate: cooperation with private parties, processing of personal data, and support for research and innovation

DIGITALEUROPE and its’ members take their responsibility to maintain the safety, security, and privacy of millions of users seriously. They also recognise that there are situations where they need to assist law enforcement agencies (LEAs) carrying out investigations into criminal activity.

Over the years, many CCIA Members have built a trusted relationship with Europol and regularly assist the agency in tackling cross-border criminal activities, particularly counter-terrorism, child exploitation imagery and cybercrimes.

CENTR is submitting the following feedback on the Inception Impact Assessment on the Europol Regulation that aims to revise the mandate of Europol. CENTR is the association of European country code top-level domain (ccTLD) registries. All EU Member State and EEA country ccTLDs (such as .de, .no, and .nl) are members of CENTR.

Here are our responses: Objective 1: Enable Europol to cooperate effectively with private third parties: Option 1 + Option 2 + Option 3. Objective 2: Strengthening the functions of Europol to address emerging threats: Option 1 + option 2 + Option 3 with the following restrictions: Ensure pro-European loyalty and the security of third companies with which Europol will work. So evaluate and test these third parties.

Part Two The courts have completely disregarded the legislation on enforcement proceedings, the procedure that falls within the scope of enforcement, in the course of their work and without regard to me. Krisztián Papp, Independent Bailiff, has continuously and seriously violated the legislation on enforcement proceedings.

Dear European Commission, Thank you very much for the notification of the laws and policies currently being drafted. To make suggestions, we think about solutions to their professional possibilities. The Strengthening of Europol’s mandate is very much needed because those employed by the Judiciary Bodies of a Member State may be corrupt in order to keep their jobs.
