Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposal for the revision of the Cybersecurity Act. eco welcomes the objective of strengthening cybersecurity, resilience and coherence across the Union and would like to contribute the following comments to support a proportionate, risk-based and workable framework.

POSITION PAPER on the Call for Evidence for an Impact Assessment of the Revision of the Cyber Security Act (CSA) Berlin, 20.06.2025 On 11 April 2025, the European Commission launched a consultation on the review of the Cybersecurity Act. This initiative is part of the Commission's current work programme, which places a strong focus on simplification alongside other points.

The review of the Copyright in the Digital Single Market Directive (CDSM Directive) provides an important opportunity to assess whether the existing framework continues to deliver on its objectives in a rapidly evolving technological environment.

eco Association of the Internet Industry welcomes the Commission's invitation to comment on the Whitepaper. eco recognises the challenge but also the importance of expanding high-performance digital infrastructures.

eco – Association of the Internet Industry has followed the discussion for the development of complementary competition provisions that differ from existing competition law principles, and generally welcomes a European approach. With the proposal on the DMA, the EU Commission wants to launch provisions that allow direct application and enforcement for certain issues by the EU Commission.

Data centres are the foundation of Europes digital infrastructure. They are essential to the provision of fast and reliable digital services for critical infrastructure, businesses, and private users. Sustainable digitalisation must therefore be aligned with the performance and competitiveness of Europe as a data centre location.
