VIK begrüßt die Möglichkeit, an dieser Konsultation teilzunehmen. Die geplante Reform des Emissionshandels sowie der Anstieg der CO2-Preise erhöhen die Notwendigkeit eines starken Carbon-Leakage-Schutzes für die Industrie. Die bestehenden Instrumente werden mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit langfristig nicht ausreichen, um die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit des Industriestandortes Deutschland und der EU sicherzustellen.
VIK e.V. supports the European Commission’s plans for an improved emissions trading mechanism. However, it must be ensured that the planned reform of emissions trading does not lead to an increased risk of carbon leakage. A price corridor can accelerate the convergence of the two systems and thus provide planning certainty.

VIK welcomes the opportunity to participate in the consultation on the roadmap and inception impact assessment hydrogen and gas markets decarbonization package. VIK supports the goal of the Green Deal to change energy markets in a non-disruptive and cost-efficient manner. However, the industries concerned are exposed to international competition.
