We express our support for the European Commission’s initiative to develop a Recommendation on cardiovascular health checks under the Safe Heart Plan. It is crucial that future cardiovascular health surveillance includes risk factors for key cardiovascular diseases. However, a model focusing solely on these factors would ignore those with hereditary and congenital arrhythmias and heart muscle disorders.
