In view of the sectors investment needs, the French Telecoms Federation is calling for a simplification and harmonisation of the regulatory framework to make it more conducive to investment, innovation and competitiveness. The Digital Networks Act lays the foundations for such a modernisation of the framework, including by moving from a directive to a regulation.

The French Telecoms Federation (Fédération Française des Télécoms, hereinafter FFTelecoms) represents the electronic communications operators in France. FFTelecoms is a member of EuroISPA, the pan-European association of Internet Service Providers, which represents over 2500 companies.

We would like to thank the European Commission for giving us the opportunity to comment on the draft guidelines for the Cyber Resilience Act. The legal and technical clarifications contained in the guidelines are essential for the telecoms sector to ensure the effective, consistent and harmonised implementation of EU law.

FFTélécoms members have a long-standing commitment to the fight against illegal content online and are particularly aware of the challenges faced by broadcasters regarding online piracy of live event and therefore welcomes the Commission's willingness to address this issue.

FFTélécoms welcomes the opportunity to respond to the public consultation on the evaluation and impact assessment on merger guidelines. Obviously, EU competition and internal market rules have a direct impact on the competitiveness of the telecommunications sector which is highly strategic at both the EU and national level.
