What they argued

EU cardiovascular health planfiled 15 Sept 2025PDFsource

Cardiomyopathies are a group of cardiovascular diseases affecting the heart muscle, which reduces the ability of the heart to pump blood. They are often caused by inherited pathogenic genetic variants. Cardiomyopathies affect an estimated 1.5 million people across Europe and are often underdiagnosed, misdiagnosed, or diagnosed too late.

Health Checks for Cardiovascular diseasesfiled 18 May 2026PDFsource

Cardiomyopathies Matter welcomes the European Commissions initiative on a Council Recommendation for health checks for cardiovascular diseases. We strongly support an EU-wide, coordinated approach to early detection, given the significant burden of cardiovascular diseases and the clear gaps in screening and diagnosis across Member States.
