Business & Science Poland supports the possible use of high-quality international carbon credits towards the 2040 EU climate target, provided they are introduced within a clear, limited and credible legal framework. International credits can serve as a pragmatic complement, especially in sectors where further emission reductions are particularly costly or technologically difficult.

What they argued
A key priority is to ensure that the governance framework places energy security, system resilience and security of supply on equal footing with decarbonisation objectives. BSP argues that the transition must be deliverable in practice, which requires acknowledging transitional solutions where necessary and ensuring reliable energy systems during the transformation.
Business & Science Poland supports a post-2030 climate framework providing Member States with meaningful flexibility in how national targets are delivered. The framework should better reflect different starting points, energy mixes, access to low-carbon technologies and the relative costs of transition across Member States.
