The European Open Digital Ecosystem is central to strengthening the EUs technological sovereignty, security, and competitiveness. Open-source software and open digital assets enable transparency, interoperability, and innovation while reducing dependency on proprietary technologies. They are particularly important for SMEs, which often face resource constraints that limit access to advanced digital tools.
Our submission focuses on internationally educated teachers (IETs), drawing on our research in Portugal and other European contexts funded by YERUN mobility award to University Nova Lisbon and Brunel University of London (see attached report). As teacher shortages intensify across the EU, international teacher mobility is becoming an increasingly important, yet insufficiently understood, policy response.
