Summary
GeneratedCouncil Regulation (EEC) No 3220/84 sets the Community scale for grading pig carcases, in force since 1 January 1985. Carcases are graded by estimated lean-meat content into five classes (E, U, R, O, P), with an optional S grade of 60% or more. All slaughterhouses must apply the scale, though Member States may exempt small plants under 200 pigs weekly. It repealed Regulation (EEC) No 2760/75.
