The large, internationally operating family businesses which our Foundation represents support the European Commission´s general approach to overhaul and simplify the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The simplification drafts by EFRAG structurally dissolve various textual und content-related duplications. The stronger focus e.g. on key actions would allow for a more proportional reporting.

The Foundation for Family Business and Policy thanked for the opportunity to comment. Bureaucracy is an important location factor. From the point of view of family businesses, the Commission’s first proposals to rationalise reporting obligations for businesses and Member States are therefore a correct signal.
