The new proposal of the European Commission offers the possibility to strengthen environmental issues comparably to other objections of the authorisation process of a medicinal product for human use. The new provisions meet the requirements set by the EU with the Strategic Approach on Pharmaceuticals, the Pharmaceutical Strategy and the Chemicals Strategy, including the Zero Pollution Ambition.
