Occasional passenger transport has specific features which require particular adaptation of the rules on driving and rest periods for drivers. In addition, the level playing field between domestic and international occasional passenger service providers is currently uneven.

The National Passenger Transport Federation (FNTV) is a professional association that brings together road passenger transport companies (TRVs) and new mobility actors. FNTV represents more than 1 300 companies of all sizes (VSEs, SMEs and groups). Its members employ 100 000 employees. The National Passenger Transport Federation welcomes the initiative of the European Commission.
