With this contribution the VDMA responds to the European Commissions Call for Evidence on the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED IV). It welcomes the initiative to further develop the EU renewable energy framework in light of evolving climate, energy security, and competitiveness challenges, and underlines the importance of RED IV as a post2030 strategic framework.

The Bio Oil Group produces UCO-based biodiesel in Netherlands, Germany and Austria. We employ around 100 people within the Biodiesel sector of our group and in 2019 we produced about 175.000 t of UCO-based biodiesel with GHG reductions of up to 91 %. We are proud to make an important contribution to reducing GHG emissions of EU road transport.

Bio Oil Group is a waste based Biodiesel producer in Netherlands, Germany and Austria. The Biodiesel produced in our plants is 100% Used Cooking Oil based (UCOME). Biodiesel cannot be used in aviation due to its cold flow properties but it is a perfect option for the existing car and truck fleet to also contribute to climate protection.
