We asked fourteen-year-olds in Belgium what they would ask school for, to feel more prepared for adult life. One of them answered: "learn how I need to do everything, because I'm not going to use tangent when I have to pay for my house." We had expected stress, friendship, confidence what the wellbeing literature prepares you for.

not in the EU Transparency RegisterThis organization files on consultations without a register number, so its record here is built from its filings alone. Register facts — staff, costs, accreditations — are not available for it.
Counts here are a floor, never a total: they cover the 585 consultation files tracked so far (42,586 submissions, mostly 2025–26), so an organization's real filing history is larger, not smaller.

What they argued
The adults Europe most needs to reach are the ones it reaches least. In 2022 only 18.4% of low-qualified adults took part in any education or training, against a 30% target for 2025 and at the current pace, Cedefop judges, the targets will not be met. Online learning is supposed to be the answer to that. We wanted to know what actually happens when it is used.
A nurse writing up a care plan, a mechanic checking his own weld, a chef tasting a sauce before it leaves the pass none of them has a teacher standing behind them. They judge their own work against a professional standard, alone, several times a day. In vocational education, self-assessment is not a classroom technique. It is the job. It is also the thing we do not teach.
