Summary
GeneratedCouncil Regulation (EEC) No 315/93 sets EU procedures for contaminants in food, banning products with unacceptable toxicological levels and requiring levels as low as reasonably achievable. It empowers the Commission to set maximum tolerances via comitology and lets Member States temporarily restrict products on health grounds. In force since 1 March 1993, it applies across all Member States.
