Counts here are a floor, never a total: they cover the 326 consultation files tracked so far (29,503 submissions, mostly 2025–26), so an organization's real filing history is larger, not smaller.

Who they are

Among the 1205 trade and business associations on this site, they rank #440 by legislative files engaged — a count of participation, not a measure of influence.

What they argued

Substantiation and communication of explicit environmental claims (Green Claims Directive)filed 19 Jul 2023PDFsource

The advertising industry supports the Commission’s overall objective of empowering consumers through better protection against unfair practices and better information. It is in the interest of both consumers and businesses to prevent misleading claims and to promote truthful environmental claims.

Digital Markets Actfiled 5 May 2021PDFsource

ZAW expressly welcomes the fact that an initiative is being taken at European level to adapt antitrust law to the changed market conditions in the digital world. The DMA is at the heart of existential regulatory issues for the digital advertising industry given the overwhelming market power of the dominant intermediaries (gatekeepers). The DMA is an important step in the right direction.

Update of EU rules on audiovisual media servicesfiled 19 Dec 2025PDFsource

The German Advertising Federation (ZAW) is the national association of the advertising industry in Germany. It forms a large, dynamic network of 43 member organisations through which it represents all sectors and disciplines in advertising. The AVMSD works precisely because it balances legal obligations with proven, agile self-regulatory systems such as the German Advertising Council and EASA.

Regulatory measure on the review of energy labelling for household washing machines and washer-driersfiled 26 Nov 2018PDFsource

The ZAW refers in its opinion to the advertising requirements provided for in the draft Delegated Regulation for household washing machines and for household tumble driers under Article 3i (e), (f) and Article 4c (d) in conjunction with Annex VII. According to the ZAW, this goes beyond the material regulatory framework of the EU Regulation (EU) 2017/1369 on energy and turns out to be disproportionate.
