What they argued

Right to Stay Strategy: Your Region, Your Futurefiled 10 Jun 2026PDFsource

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region welcomes the European Commission’s proposal for a European strategy for the right to remain. Freedom of movement within the European Union offers European citizens the opportunity to live, study, work and undertake business in another Member State, but they must also be able to remain and build quality personal and professional lives in their region of origin.

Guidance on the application of the ‘do no significant harm’ principle under the 2028-2034 MFFfiled 31 Mar 2026source

The DNSH principle was complex to deploy over the period 2021-2027. In particular, the late approval of the Taxonomy Regulation in June 2020 was a challenge, as the scheduling of programmes was already well advanced by that date. It therefore seems necessary for the European Commission’s guidelines to be known as soon as possible, ideally before 1 January 2027.
